I really LOVE the Tucker House! We've stayed here a few times and they always are wonderful! When we first come into the room there is homemade cookies and also a couple of chocolates for us! Even Maizy (our goldendoodle) gets a special homemade cookie! The ones for the humans taste AMAZING and I can tell Maizy thinks the same about her cookie! I've liked all the rooms we've stayed in tons! Very nicely decorated, awesomely clean and everything you need! I really love the bathroom soaps they provide! They are incredibly kind here!! Thank you so much for the wonderful stays! We'll be back!!

My boyfriend & I stayed here with our small dog for a weekend to get away from the city. We stayed in the "goose in the pond" cottage because they would allow our dog in that room. It was a quaint, cozy little cottage--we loved it! The breakfast was amazing--you can eat in their dining room or have it brought to your room. We had ham and cheese crepes, roasted pineapple, and a spice cake with homemade whipped cream.....it was heavenly! I would love to stay here during the summer and maybe walk on the ferry next time...the b&b is about a 5 minute walk from the ferry dock! Not only are they "dog friendly" but I felt like they went the extra mile. They have a fenced in yard and had homemade dog treats waiting for us when we checked in. There was a little card written to our dog from their dog mentioning dog parks and fun walks in the area...what a cute idea!

I just spent a week in Friday Harbor and was lucky enough to randomly choose Tucker House for my accomodations. It was great! My room, Castle Wall was pefect. Stephanie who helped me with the reservations and Erin who does "everything" else were fantastic. It was extremely clean, the breakfasts each day were fantastic. long and short if you are going to the San Juan's this is the place to stay.

Tucker House is an absolutely wonderful B&B only blocks from the "main drag" of Friday Harbor. Every morning there was a multi-course breakfast (different and wonderful each morning) and I believe every room has a jacuzzi tub! We were originally booked at Rosario Resort on Orcas Island, but after reading many negative reviews, we decided to move over to Tucker House on San Juan Island...we couldn't have been happier with our choice! The hosts are very helpful and gracious (especially Anna Maria), and go above and beyond to help...there's even a guest kitchen and free guest laundry!

My boyfriend & I were very excited about staying at the Tucker House for his birthday. Unfortunately, the experience really wasn't great, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. The problems started at check in. I had let the innkeepers know ahead of time that we would be arriving around 8 pm & they told us there would be an envelope waiting for us with keys. No envelope or keys. After getting into our room, I was shocked at how tiny it was for the price we were paying. The website claims it has a 'fully stocked kitchen' however the coffee maker was broken (and not replaced), there was loose leaf tea but no kettle or pan to boil water in, no toaster, and no salt or pepper. I'm pretty sure if you want to call something a fully stocked kitchen, salt & pepper are the bare necessities. The windows & walls of the cottage were entirely too thin - with everything shut, we could still hear cars...not very relaxing at all. The breakfast was ridiculous, unless you love sweets, and only sweets, in the morning (which very few adults I know do). There was nothing savory or properly filling in our breakfast. We each got a stack of banana pancakes with jam, a slice of a sweet pastry with cream, and a plum. We then had sweet granola to share. The coffee served to us was watered down & lukewarm. No toast, no eggs, no butter, nothing that would have actually made a good breakfast. Really, not even toast?! We would have been far happier with some good bread & butter than all the fancy sweet food served.

My partner and I just stayed at Tucker House B&B for two nights over the last weekend. We too ended up arriving a little after their 4-6pm check in window and were told there were keys waiting for us in an envelope in the lobby. When we arrived they weren't there, so we drove up to their other lobby and looked in there too - nothing. At that point my partner tried to call one of the staff and got no answer. Finally, after waiting about 15 minutes someone I guess had gotten the message she left on the machine and found us in the parking lot. She informed us there wasn't room for us to eat in the main dining room so they would deliver the food to our room. In a few minutes we were into the room. The room itself was clean, but amenities were lacking and the construction was poor. This particular room could just as well be a Super-8 motel suite. It had untreated wood trim, a "kitchenette" with appliances out of the 70's that made all kinds of strange noises. And a shower that looks like it was re purposed from an RV. The whole quality of the room really just lacks attention to detail, like having double light switches with only one active switch in it and the other just a blank hole to the wall. The bathroom fan which turns itself off and on because of a short in the wall. And a mattress with squeaky springs. The decor was old paintings and a kindof random plastic mirror that you might find at the local thrift store. At least we were looking forward to breakfast based on some of the reviews we've read online. So we went to bed and awaited the wonderful meal we were sure to have. In the middle of the night we were woken up by the sound of our neighbor snoring, luckily after about 20 minutes he rolled over (could hear him roll over) and stopped. The next morning they brought down breakfast. We had requested their vegetarian breakfast (which they offer as an option) and were really disappointed with it. The food arrived cold, late, and the portion sizes were TINY. The presentation was nice though. Luckily we had some of our own food with us and were able to make some toast to supplement. Day two was the same, except even smaller portions, a single fork for the both of us to enjoy our eggs (??), and the fish slices that they included on the plate with two mini bagels was a nice presentation - but not really suitable for a vegetarian meal. Overall the stay was mediocre at best. The staff were friendly (when you saw them), but otherwise it just felt like just about any other motel to us, except at twice the price. If you are looking for a "Bed and Breakfast" experience, this unfortunately is not it.

Note: we stayed in the Sunshine Suite which is separate from the B&B. This wasn't the best experience based on the following: 1. They sent about 8 different "confirmation" emails and the entrance code to the suite was buried in one of them. I called the front desk and the person spent about 5 minutes "looking" for it, I ended up finding the code on my phone faster. 2. The place itself was fine but the heat turned on in the middle of the night and couldn't be adjusted via the thermostat, which was odd. 3. They charged a $50 cleaning fee but we were responsible for doing the dishes and taking out the trash. All in all, the location is pretty close to the ferry terminal and we booked on pretty short notice, but if you have more time I would recommend checking out other options as well.

I try to refrain from writing negative reviews as I don't feel it proper to bash anyone that sincerely puts an effort into their craft, but I feel like I should share my experience to help another traveler avoid a similar experience to mine. I thought that springing for a more expensive option would guarantee all of the amenities of a $145 price tag. This was the most expensive night's sleep I have ever paid for. The Grandmother's Garden had a bed and a bathroom. No t.v., no bathtub (a stand alone shower, which was, could we say, a "tight fit" for an average sized woman) and as I stayed away from the room until late in the night to see if they could rent it to another traveler so I could recoup my losses, I missed the breakfast part of the B&B due to oversleeping. While I had a great night's sleep, I would've gladly taken the offer that the Earthbox had given me 5 minutes prior to booking my stay at the Tucker House had Anna Maria informed me that this particular room had only the basics- for $145.00. In e-mail exchanges since the stay, I will say they offered their condolences and a small monetary offering in the form of a gift certificate for a future stay at the Tucker House, which I declined. I was very willing to handle this with as much patience and candor as possible until the last e-mail from Anna Maria stated that there were bathtubs in every room (I searched high and low, folks- no tub), and that while this particular room was "cable ready," that they haven't gotten around to installing a t.v. yet I felt like I was being vilified for discussing my feelings concerning the B&B's shortcomings with her. In the end I feel like they were just trying to rent an incomplete room without being completely honest with their patrons. The setting was idyllic, the breakfast that was thrown together by some very accommodating staff members was at least an effort, but I can not recommend this B&B after this particular experience. While the money could be replaced, my weekend is gone, along with the rest and relaxation that could've come with it.

I was lucky enough to score a travelzoo deal for this place, and treated my boyfriend to a birthday weekend away. I'm so glad we stayed here! We were in the "Goose on the Pond" room for 2 nights. Lovely spot, with a very comfortable bed and nice little kitchen/dining alcove. Great little table outside as well. We got a certificate for discounted messages down the street, as well as a certificate for dinner at the Coho restaurant, which was dynamite. And the hot breakfast! Oh my goodness--so delicious AND healthy! It was such a great way to start the day, and we appreciated the to-the-door delivery. Sometimes you just want to eat by yourselves in your pajamas vs. going to the dining room with all the other guests. This was perfect. Also of note: everybody we interacted with was unfailingly friendly. Anna Maria, Beth, and a gentleman I spoke with on the phone (David?), and even the chef (? name), who we dropped our keys off with, were polite and efficient. Exemplary customer service from beginning to end. Super comfortable, and pet-friendly for people bringing dogs. Lovely spot, and not the least bit pretentious. I look forward to staying here again!

We stayed 2 nights at a room called Patience Corner, which after Memorial Day is $260 a night + tax. The room was small; the queen size bed took up 3/4 of the space. The bathroom; however, was spacious and stocked with Washington-made bath products which was nice. If you open the windows, you can hear the street noise. Breakfast the first morning was Eggs Benedict on a bed of black beans instead of an English muffin served with asparagus. The second day, it was asparagus quiche serviced with a salad. I was not impressed with the type nor the quality of the entrees. The best part of the breakfasts was the granola that was on the table. The added "surprise" was a sample dessert after the meal. Perhaps all the other accommodations in Friday Harbor are expensive, but I didn't think Tucker House was worth the price. 6/10/2014: I'm so tempted to remove one star from my rating because once again, the owner of Tucker House, Anna Maria, has decided to use her response to my review as a way to tout her offerings and advertise her business...just like she did in my review of Coho Restaurant which she also owns. I think that was very tacky and a real turn-off. Both her responses were longer than my reviews. My opinion stands despite her justifications.

Okay this place was great! My first B&B. The staff was so great! We missed our ferry so didn't get in until around 10pm. We called to update the staff and they were very accommodating. The room was ready with keys, maps of the area, and a welcome letter. The room was great! Stayed at Dove in the Window. Huge bathroom with a GREAT jacuzzi tub. There was a cheese plate, fresh cookies, and chilled champagne waiting for us. All the amenities you would want or expect from a great hotel but with the feeling of home. Breakfast was fantastic! The staff continued to be great and each course was great! Among many items available for purchase, there were keychains, however we asked if there was a keychain available that matched our room key with "Dove in the Window" engraved. When we came back to our room that afternoon, there was a note saying they found the keychain we were looking for with the keychain in an envelope. Seems like a little thing but just an example of how much effort the staff put into everything to make you comfortable. Have already recommended the Tucker House and would love to return!

We stayed here in Lizzie's Cottage last weekend and it was such a treat! I surprised my girlfriend with a 3 night stay for her birthday weekend and we could not have had a better time. Lizzie's Cottage is so quaint and charming that we want to build a guest house on our property to replicate it. The staff was very helpful also. I went in knowing that the breakfasts they serve are a little bit more "extravagant" than I am used to so I requested that we get a more traditional breakfast if possible. The first morning the breakfast did not get touched being anything but traditional in my opinion. We called down to ask them if they could modify the menu for us for the next two mornings and they went out of there way to make us happy and deliver more traditional breakfasts which was very nice. There were delicious cookies waiting for us every afternoon when we got back from our daily island adventures. I could not have asked for a better trip short of having a little better weather. One side not: the only thing that was a disappointment for me was that when I booked the trip I was asked if I would like either a complimentary bottle of champagne or a $25 gift certificate for dinner at the Coho Restaurant. I chose the Coho Restaurant, and started planning around a really nice sit down dress up dinner on Sunday night. Well I learned when I went to set a reservations at the Coho that it did not open for the season until the night after we were to leave the island. That was kind of a bummer since we really did not get to have a real formal type dining experience that I had been hoping for. I would definitely stay in Lizzie's Cottage again and will recommend it to others.

Beware. Even though I canceled my reservation a couple days after I made it I was charged $45 fee for canceling. I think at the height of the busy season that's ridiculous.

Received a response from Tucker Inn stating that they had delivered the breakfast to us at 830am. They suggested we were not in our cottage. Impossible, we never left the cottage. We waited for our breakfast for 20 minutes beyond the scheduled delivery time of 830am. The Inn did refund us $25 for our breakfast. I do not appreciate misinformation.

We stayed in the Goose in the Pond cottage over the last weekend of February. The rate was a good deal compared to peak season prices and we enjoyed beautiful weather during our stay to boot (sunny and a reasonably warm 55 degrees during winter). We don't typically like B&Bs -- too intimate for our taste, plus we like traveling with our dog, a big golden retriever -- but this place was the perfect compromise. A cute room (yes, the bed takes up much of it, but it was sure comfy) plus a little eat-in kitchen. We got cookies on arrival, along with a list of places to bring our pup. Each morning a nice breakfast was delivered, and we brewed the tasty coffee waiting in the fridge in a provided French press. We spent most of our visit exploring the island, but the cottage was a very chill place to hang out in between jaunts. Only caveat: the other cottages are physically attached and share common areas and walkways. A couple next door came back very late at night and walked right past the back door of our room. Our dog barked, which I felt bad about, as we probably weren't the only ones he woke up, but to him it sounded like those guests were about to walk right in on us.

Great location, right in the thick of things in Friday Harbor. Made catching the ferry back (with a car) super easy, and I was happy to have the car on the island to explore. Our family of 5 stayed for 3 nights in the downstairs suite called Victoria's Flower Garden. It was spacious, with two good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living space with a pull-out sofa, and a kitchen with a sun-room/eating space. Plenty of room for the family to not drive each other crazy. Check-in was easy (we arrived during their normal window), fresh cookies delivered daily while we were out, breakfasts delivered to our suite daily were delicious and had plenty of food. I liked being able to cook dinners there, and we made use of the kitchen. It was well stocked with essential plates, silverware, pots, pans & cooking utensils. There was loose-leaf tea with appropriate pouches; they even had fresh milk and orange juice in the fridge, and a Brita pitcher for filtered water. We were on an extended road trip, so one of the things I appreciated most was the ability to do laundry. Guests all have access to the laundry machines and the Inn provides detergent and dryer sheets. In our suite, the laundry room was basically attached, through one locked door. Super convenient. If you're visiting San Juan Island, whales are best seen on the west side (a 10 - 15 min drive), or by kayak or whale watching boats. They've got a network in place so everyone out whale watching knows where the whales are. We saw Orca the very first day there from one of the parking areas on the west side, and then again on a super 1/2 day kayak trip with Discovery Sea Kayaks. Awesome place to visit for whale watching.

My wife and I spent our first anniversary in Friday Harbor. We stayed at the Tucker House Inn and booked the "Roche Harbor Cottage." Honestly, I can't imagine a better way to spend the occasion. Not only is San Juan Island beautiful, but Tucker House was incredibly convenient with superb service and all the amenities we required for our romantic weekend getaway. We got a late start departing for Friday Harbor, so I called the Inn to let them know. They were incredibly nice on the phone, wishing me a happy anniversary and promising to have all our check-in information waiting for us to pick up at our leisure. My wife doesn't eat eggs or dairy, so I was sure to inform them of that when we made the reservation. When we arrived, our fridge was stocked with juice, milk (for me), and soy milk (for her), along with two fresh cookies (one of them vegan, for her) and fresh ground coffee for our morning. Breakfast was always on-time, always delicious, and always factored in her dietary restrictions. Furthermore, the staff was incredibly helpful, and took every step to ensure we were comfortable. The room did that as well, with a private hot tub, (faux) fireplace, and full kitchen. I highly recommend this location for quiet getaways to San Juan Island.

Started our anniversary vacation off by traveling to the San Juan Islands. Stayed at the Tucker House in their Lizzie's Cottage/cabin.($290.0ish dollars) We were pleasantly greeted by a staff member when we checked in. She took us on a tour of the property and we eventually ended up at our cottage. There, we were greeted with beautiful woodland lodge themed room with cozy quilts and up cycled barn wood on the walls. It had it's own patio too! It had a kitchen stocked with snacks and milk, juice, and coffee. On the dinette table there was a plate of freshly baked (large) snicker doodle cookies just waiting to be consumed! Yummy! Each afternoon a fresh plate magically arrived with different fresh-baked goodies for us to consume. Breakfast was delivered each morning to our foyer by Tucker House staff and each morning was different gourmet breakfast. Their famous granola is truly amazing and it is not a problem if one has dietary restrictions or is a vegan. They can accommodate you with no problem. My husband is a vegetarian and we didn't have any problem. The only things I would say they could improve on is the room temp. I ran the bathroom fan and opened up all the windows and ran the small fan that they had in the room. It still did not get cool enough for a pre-metopause woman to get great sleep. The temp did not get below 74 until early morn. So I would recommend ceiling fans or a small AC system to be installed. The bathroom only had a shower and no tub. A tub would be nice but no big deal. The bathroom door lock was broken and we did not get a break on the sales tax as an Oregon resident. Otherwise we loved our stay. I would we recommend The Tucker House upon your visit to the San Juan's? Oh yes. I can't wait to return! I loved the decor in the cottage so much I want them to decorate my house like that!

Wonderful hosts, super cute Victorian style rooms, comfy bed, good breakfasts, but the best part was the homemade cookies they drop off every day :P Looking forward to another stay here.

Love Love Love the Tucker House and Harrison House Bed and Breakfast Inns! We have stayed here two times and will stay here again. These quaint homes are walking distance from the ferry and town. The breakfasts are very good. Friday Harbor is a fun town with lots to do or little to do, depending on what your desires are. The staff at the Inns are nice and helpful. The Coho restaurant is tiny but has excellent food, a little pricey. Both rooms we stayed in were accomodating. Would definitely recommend for couples or a girls weekend.

Started our vacation off by traveling to the San Juan Islands. Stayed at the Tucker House in their Victoria room and adjoining suite. We were pleasantly greeted by Erin (forgive me, I believe that was her name). She took us on a tour of the property and we eventually ended up at our rooms. There, we were greeted with a spacious living room, two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a kitchen with all the amenities. While touring the living room, there was a plate of freshly baked (large) snicker doodle cookies just waiting to be consumed! After our tour, Erin vanished up the stairs and left us to promptly devour all four cookies immediately! Each afternoon a fresh plate magically arrived with different fresh-baked goodies for us to consume. Breakfast was delivered each morning to our "sunroom" by (I'll call them 'Tucker House' elves) and each morning was different. Not your typical breakfast fare of green eggs and ham (kidding), but garden frittatas with goat cheese, oven roasted garlic potatoes, fresh mixed berry medley, mini creme brûlée, fresh orange juice, milk, and coffee. And to top it off, each day had a different breakfast! Oh, and did I mention their famous granola at every meal? OMG.... Each day after we returned from discovering another part of the island, our rooms were cleaned, fresh linens on the bed and fresh towels in the bathroom. Ahhhh, home sweet home. Just wish this type of service would continue when I get home! Would we recommend The Tucker House upon your visit to the San Juan's? Without a doubt.

I bought a groupon here for my sweetie and I to have a little getaway. I am sometimes underwhelmed with the service to groupon buyers, but felt that the Tucker House staff was extremely welcoming and gracious. They even went out of their way to accommodate us in a suite that wasn't included in the deal on dates that we requested (for a small and very fair upgrade fee). We absolutely loved Lizzie's Cottage. The cleanliness, comfort, and accessibility from the ferry exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was delivered to our door at our requested time both mornings, and was delicious. All of my interactions with the staff over email and in person were efficient and helpful. I will definitely recommend it to friends and family. We loved our stay at Tucker House Inn, and absolutely adored the beauty and quaintness of San Juan Island!

We stayed here last summer. We had a group of 6. The bottom floor of the house has two rooms a kitchen, sun room, and a living room. The couch pulls out to a bed to sleep two. We had a wonderful relaxing time. It's not the place to go if you want to be loud and 'party'. They will come tell you to be quiet FYI. If you want a place to go relax leave your car at home and enjoy island life, this is the place. Food was real good and the people were nice. Word.
